There are various writing styles being used worldwide. These writing styles are divided into two basic categories which are formal and informal writing styles. The academic writing is a bit similar to other styles of writing like professional or business writing. The academic writing falls in the category of formal as it is impersonal. It usually avoids conversational or casual style. It avoids informal vocabulary or contractions.
